Description
Class of hydrous aluminosilicate minerals commonly occurring through alteration of volcanic glass. Common zeolite minerals (phillipsite; clinoptilolite) are weakly birefringent, colorless or faintly yellowish, tabular or prismatic. Phillipsite may form cruciform twins or rosettes. Associated with volcaniclastic sediments and their alteration products.
